Worlds
Worlds are the backbone of Friends & Fables. When you RP with AI, you'll often find it going in very similar circles. Worlds change the experience by pre-populating enough information for an AI game master to expand upon. The result is a much more immersive experience.
Heirarchy
- World your "world" is just a big folder for all of the objects within it. You also define some high level settings, such as the theme and currencies used within the world.
- Areas Areas are defined by bounding box coordinates. Every area is a rectangle on a map, defined by two coordinates (min_x, min_y), (max_x, max_y). Effectively, every area is defined by its Southwest corner and its Northeast corner. An area can be as big or small as you want it to be, and can represent things like countries, cities, dungeons, or even neighborhoods.
- Points Of Interest POIs are defined by a single point (X, Y). POIs are good for representing things like buildings and landmarks. Think about it similarly to seeing a restaurant on Google Maps. Regardless of the square footage of the restaurant, you see a single point on the map.
- NPCs What's a world without characters? You can create NPCs and place them at POIs.
- Interactions You can plan interactions at POIs. For example, "when the adventurers enter the Inn, a black cat will appear and lead them to the backroom". Interactions are meant to make the worlds feel more alive. You can plan multiple interactions and they will happen sequentially.

Campaign Worlds vs Worlds
There is a distinction between a world within a campaign and a world outside of a campaign. If you build a world with our world building tools, it is a template of your world that can be copied. When you or someone else plays through the world in a campaign, we make a copy of the template. No updates are made to your original world when someone else plays it.
